Mufti of Lebanon condemns Boutroseya church attack

Mufti of Lebanon Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian Monday condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Boutroseya Church in Cairo's Abbassiya district yesterday.

The blast left 25 persons dead and 49 others injured.

Terrorism knows no religion and nation, he said, stressing that terrorist acts are meant to destabilize Egypt.

This criminal hand that is trying to spread chaos in Egypt should be cut, he said, lauding the steadfastness of the Egyptians in the face of terrorism.

The unity of Egyptians is the only guarantee that no sedition will occur in Egypt, he said, calling on all political leaderships in Egypt to preserve the unity of the Egyptians.

He urged Arabs to stand hand in hand in the face of terrorism that does not differentiate between Muslim and Christian.
