Grand Mufti of Al Quds and Al Aqsa Mosque Imam Sheikh Ekrema Sabri condemned on Monday the deadly terrorist attack that targeted the Boutroseya Church in Cairo's Abbassiya district yesterday.
The blast left 25 persons dead and 49 others injured.
He expressed his deepest grief over these heinous crimes that target innocent people, calling for closing ranks and fomenting sedition.
Such blasts are criminal acts that contradict all divine religions and noble values, he said, stressing that attacks against places of worship are rebuffed by Islam and all other religions.
He called for providing more protection to places of worship.
The Mufti also denounced Saturday's twin blasts in Istanbul that killed 38 people and wounded 155 others near a soccer stadium.
