Jordanian King Abdallah II sent a cable of condolences to Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud over the death of a number of pilgrims in a stampede in the tent city of Mina on Thursday.
In the cable, the king prayed to Allah to have mercy on the victims and wished the injured speedy recovery.
Earlier, the Saudi Civil Defense Service said that 310 pilgrims died in a stampede in the tent city of Mina.
The crush, in which at least 450 others were injured, took place on Street 204 of the camp city at Mina where pilgrims are stoning three pillars symbolizing the devil.
Street 204 is one of the main roads leading camps in Mina to Jamarat, where pilgrims ritually stone the devil.
