France has condemned what it called "violent clashes" at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound.
Paris condemns the violent clashes that erupted at the mosque in East Jerusalem on Sunday, said Romain Nadal, the spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry Tuesday.
"We recall our commitment to respect for holy places in Jerusalem," Nadal said, adding: "These events underscore the need to revive the peace talks to progress towards a resolution of the conflict".
He said that his country "which proposed the establishment of a new international support of the peace process, is ready to play its part in it"
