Former Greek president Costis Stephanopoulos died Sunday evening at the age of 90, Greek media reported.
Stephanopoulos was admitted to Henry Dunant hospital in Athens last week with a diagnosis of respiratory infection, according to the (dpa).
Doctors said he died as a result of damage to multiple organs, according to Greece's Ekathimerini newspaper.
The conservative lawmaker served as Greek president between 1995 and 2005.
In his two periods as president he was able to keep party politics separate from Greece's high office.
