The Emirates Human Rights Association (EHRA) has condemned the multiple terrorist attacks which took place in French capital Paris last Friday and in which 129 people were killed and hundreds wounded.
'The terrorist acts are a flagrant violation of the principles of international human rights law in the areas of right to life, security and safety. They constitute acts of retaliation, of systematic, deliberate targeting of lives of innocent civilians and of terrorizing civilians,' the EHRA said in a statement yesterday.
The statement noted that terrorism, fanaticism, racism and incitement of hatred were among the most pressing challenges facing our human community today.
'An international, concerted and collective effort is needed by all governmental and non-governmental organisations to stop the tide of this spreading phenomenon before it becomes very dangerous. The international community should also work to bring the perpetrators, sponsors, planners and financiers (of such acts) to justice,' the statement affirmed.
