A high-profile Sudanese delegation headed on Friday to the premises of the Egyptian Embassy here to offer its condolences over the demise of Nobel Prize winner Ahmed Zewail, who passed away in the US on Tuesday at the age of 70.
Speaking to MENA, Egypt’s Ambassador to Sudan Osama Shaltout said the Sudanese delegation comprised clerics of the most prominent Sufi Orders in Sudan in addition to deputy head of Sudan’s Scholar Corporation.
Shaltout expressed his gratitude for this generous gesture by the Sudanese delegation, asserting that the Egyptian embassy here is keen on boosting communication among popular circles in the two countries, notably the Sufi Orders.
For their part, the Sudanese delegation’s members appreciated the great scientific contributions made by the late scientist who inspired many youths for his great efforts in the scientific research.
