Egyptian Ambassador to Canada Mo'taz Zahran has attended a funeral oration organized by the Coptic Church in Ottawa for victims of the attack on the Boutroseya Church in Cairo on December 11.
A number of Canadian officials and parliamentarians also attended the eulogy, a statement by the Foreign Ministry in Cairo said Sunday.
Zahran said he was sorry for the death of the victims in that heinous attack that was meant to destroy the Egyptian national fabric and unity.
What best proves this is that the attack took place as Egyptian Muslims were celebrating the Mouled el Nabawi (birth of the Prophet Muhammad) on that very same day, the diplomat noted.
