Egypt has condemned in the strongest terms Sunday morning Istanbul's terror attacks that left scores dead and injured.
In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid extended Egypt's condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery to the injured.
The spokesman, meanwhile, reiterated Egypt's firm stance toward rallying international efforts to uproot terrorism.
Earlier Sunday, a gunman shot his way into an Istanbul nightclub packed with New Year's revelers, killing at least 39 people and injuring dozens.
The assailant shot a police officer and a civilian as he entered the Reina nightclub before opening fire at random inside.
