Egypt has condemned the bombing of a Roman-era temple in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra by Daesh militants.
"Egypt's condemnation of such barbaric act, which contradicts all laws, norms and religious teachings, stems from its realization of the historical value of the temple," the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Baal Shamin Temple is one of the most important sites in the UNESCO-listed ancient Syrian city of Palmyra.
Baal Shamin was built in 17AD and it was expanded under the reign of Roman emperor Hadrian in 130AD.
