Former president Hosni Mubarak on Wednesday denied before court charges leveled against him of killing protesters in January 2011.
He also denied, in his argument defending himself before Cairo Criminal Court, that he committed any corruption or squandering of public funds crimes.
He confirmed that his military and national honor does not allow him to do so.
In a short statement before the court, Mubarak added that traders of religion and their accomplices intruded into the peaceful demonstrations that started on January 25, 2011 and turned the protest into acts of sabotage and destruction.
