US fragrance house Bond No.9 is poised to release a new scent honoring New York City, according to a report.
The new unisex perfume is entitled "B9" and is a reference to the company's headquarters on 9 Bond Street, outlines Women's Wear Daily (WWD).
The new creation will be composed of notes of saffron, gardenia leaves, amber and musk, with founder Laurice Rahmé telling the publication that the gardenia scent represents "the love of America" and the oud "the love of the rest of the world."
Earlier this month, the luxury brand launched a new collection exclusively at the upmarket London department store Harrods, inspired by Dubai. The three-part series consists of scents named "Emerald", "Indigo" and "Ruby", all designed to evoke the premier Gulf state while retaining the brand's very American identity. The collection's bottles are an elaborately designed modern riff on Arabian architecture and the individual fragrances carry notes of lychee, bergamot and saffron. It is expected to hit Saks Fifth Avenue, Bond No.9 stores and some Nordstrom locations in November.
Bond No.9 was founded in 2003 and has since gone on to become a major player in the fragrance industry, creating over 60 women's, men's and unisex scents based on the different neighborhoods of its hometown of New York. According to the brand, each of its perfumes represents "a specific downtown, midtown, or uptown locale, or a city-wide sensibility."
B9 will go on sale at Harrods, Saks Fifth Avenue and some Nordstrom store in August, priced at $320 for 100-ml and $260 for 50-ml.
