Chairman of the Executive Office of School Olympics, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, has said the number of students participating in the Olympics Programme increased this year by 20 percent compared to previous year.
Al Raisi made the remark at a press conference held today at the Etihad towers, Abu Dhabi, to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the programme in the presence of Amal Al Kous, Assistant Under-Secretary for the School Environment and Activities Sector at the Ministry of Education, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, ADEC's Executive Director of School Operations, and Humaid Abdullah, Director of the Department of Students Affairs at ADEC, and media representatives.
He said there are 3,430 students participating in this edition as compared to 2,793 students last year.
The competitions of the fourth edition of the School Olympics will kick off from Thursday and run till 23rd April.
