Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior attended on Wednesday, the Internal Security joint exercise dubbed, “Union 44”, carried out by security and policing sectors at the ministry. The joint exercise was held at the Training City, at the Special Security Forces Camp in Seeh Al Mahab in the city of Al Dhaid.
His Highness Sheikh Saif praised the efforts of the participants, and urged them to double the efforts to promote safety and security, and provide protection to community members.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, hailed the efforts of the participants in the Joint Internal Security Exercise, as well as the high efficiency and skills they demonstrated. He also attributed the big success of the exercise to the cooperation of the different sectors.
Lt. General Al Sha’far noted that the exercise was carried out according to the established plan, and provided the participants with new skills and knowledge. “The success of the joint exercise was mainly achieved thanks to the good preparation and perseverance of the different participating parties,” he said.
For his part, Colonel Staff Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Hajiri, Commander of the Special Security Forces, said that the “Union 44” joint exercise contributes to promote and improve collective action in cases of emergency and security crises. It also helps to enhance leadership and control methods at the ministry’s sectors; hone the capabilities and skills of staff members; and boost performance according to the best advanced standards.
Participants at the joint exercise indicated that security and stability of the UAE are a top priority for the higher leadership, to ensure that the UAE remain at the forefront of the safest, most secure and stable countries in the world, in the quest to achieve further progress and prosperity.
The participants also hailed the support granted by the higher leadership to the policing system, and to national staff members, so as to empower them to protect the homeland; maintain its gains, and provide a safe life for every citizen, resident, and visitor to the UAE.
The joint exercise was attended by H.E. Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs; and Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior. also attending were Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security at the Ministry of Interior; Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Commander-in-Chief of the Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior; police commanders-in-chief and directors general, and a large number of the Ministry’s officers.
