George kerdahi Damascus – Raja’ al-Aysami The well-known Lebanese television anchor George kerdahi said in a lecture at Damascus University that the Syrian people have “foiled plans to destroy Syria”. He stated that the Arab Spring in which every sincere Arab believes in has
“not accomplished the goals that everyone had been hoping to achieve.” He added that it has not resolved any of the key issues, and described it as a platform for spreading chaos in the Arab World, claiming that it has “disabled everything, and given Israel piece of mind.” kerdahi voiced his concerns at the lecture where he also stated: “The Syrian people have confronted all those who have tried to plot against their country, and Syrians have been united in foiling conspiracies which have threatened to destroy Syria, and the role that it is playing in the whole of the Middle East.” kerdahi said: “Promises for reforms which have been proposed by President Bashar al-Assad are the best way to lead Syria to a better future, rather than the conspiracies which will take the Syrians into the unknown.” kerdahi accused some Arab and Western media of being involved in these conspiracies, stating that these media organizations have used all the tools available to them to forge evidence to support their propaganda. He called upon the Syrian media to play a more active role in trying to defuse the lies made through “cheap” media, with the launching of new satellite television stations that are equipped to compete with the others.
