It has come to my attention that fabricated information regarding my client, Dr. Aisha Gaddafi, is currently being circulated on social media sites. In particular, the information purports to show copies of a statement of account in her name at HSBC Geneva, and (undated) cheques drawn in her name against this account, for significant
amounts of money.
Dr. Gaddafi does not have an account at HSBC Geneva. HSBC Geneva has further verified that the account number shown in the falsified documents is not a HSBC Geneva account. Copies of the statement of the account and undated cheques remain wholly fabricated.
The falsification of these documents is an apparent means to target Dr. Gaddafi in order to severely prejudice her reputation and interests. Those circulating false allegations regarding Dr. Gaddafi or other members of her family are urged to stop doing so immediately. Those who continue to knowingly disseminate false information regarding Dr. Gaddafi or her family will face legal action.
