Prime Minister of Morocco Abdelilah Benkirane
Rabat – Rachid Bougha

Prime Minister of Morocco Abdelilah Benkirane Rabat – Rachid Bougha The Democratic League for Women\'s Rights demanded the Moroccan government to \"take responsibility\" for what it described as the \"the exposure of Moroccan women to insecurity and lawlessness,\" this is a response to multiple attacks on women and girls in Tiznit (southern Morocco). The women were beaten on the backside with sharp tool by a criminal who remains unchallenged and uncaught by Moroccan authorities. The organisation revealed “a serious re-emergence of the exploitation of religious extremism in public spaces (sales of CDs provoking intolerance) alongside extrajudicial application of “Fatwa” (Islamic laws) which is abusive to women\'s rights and threatens the freedoms enshrined in the Constitution.\" DLWR claims “Fatwa has reached the extent of inciting murder by extremists who have appointed themselves to defend religion and morality”. One girl in Rabat was a rebuked by a Salafi for not wearing a veil. The organisation stressed the need for the principle of non-impunity and vigilance in every component of democratic society. It also listed cases of abuse against women which threaten their physical and psychological safety, harms their dignity, their rights and their individual freedom. The women’s rights organization described how “girls and women in the city of Tiznit still fear extremists who beat girls especially as suspects questioned are released without charge”.
