Want to know the power of social media? It has the power to make criminals surrender. In a bizarre case, a wanted man turned himself over to the cops after garnering over 1,000 shares on a challenge he made on Facebook.
According to the New York Post, Michael Martin Zaydel sent a challenge to the Redford Township Police Department on Facebook on October 7. In the challenge, he vowed to turn himself over to the police, perform community service around public schools and bring a dozen doughnuts for the department if their post - a screengrab of his private message to them - got 1,000 shares.
The department accepted the challenge and the post has since received 2,354 likes and over 4,500 shares.
