The Sharjah Criminal court has charged a Pakistani national with stealing from a warehouse in Sharjah Industrial area. The man is accused of breaking into the warehouse and stealing Dh10,550, cheque books and other documents.
According to the prosecution sheet, the accused broke the doors of the warehouse on August 30 last year, and entered the accountant's room. Then he broke the safe open and stole the money and cheques, in addition to other documents. After receiving a complaint, the police launched an investigation and managed to arrest the suspect.
During the court hearing presided by judge Hussain Al Ousofi, the accused denied the charges. The Judge confronted him with the evidence presented by the prosecution, which proved that his fingerprints were found on the safe.
The accused said that he has been working for the company and was assigned to cleaning the warehouse and the safe, which would be the reason for the fingerprints found on the safe. The Judge adjourned the hearing to May 29.
In another case, three Asians stood trial at the court, accused of stealing mobile phones from a mobile shop in the Sharjah industrial area 1. During the court hearing ,the three accused confessed to the crime. They told the court that they broke into the shop through the hole of the airconditioner. The first defendant told the court that the other accused kept a watch outside the shop while he stole the mobile phones.
