The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution said it has begun investigations into the case of the 11-year-old boy who was found dead on the rooftop of their building.
The killer, a Pakistani national, was arrested, the Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Maktoum Al Sharifi, had shared yesterday.
Officers said the Pakistani man arrested on suspicion of strangling the child to death after sexually assaulting him will remain in custody for seven days until the probe into the incident by prosecutors to examine and confirm all the evidence is completed. The man will be charged after the investigation is completed.
The boy identified as Azan Majid went missing on June 1, after he went to a nearby mosque to pray, according to his relatives. His body was found the next day on the rooftop his building on the Muroor Road where he was staying with his father.
