Iraqi forces prepare currently for storming Mousl’s right bank, as it managed to fully liberate the left bank during the recent days, while ISIS deployed snipers in different areas in an attempt to secure the roads leading to the downtown to prevent the advance of Iraqi troops.
The international coalition, led by the U.S, launched airstrikes in the areas controlled by the extremist group to pave the way for the ground force to advance in these areas, as ISIS suffers from the consecutive losses during the second phase of the battle.
Leader of Federal Police Shaker Gawdat said that the military operations led to full liberation of Mousl’s left bank and the killing of 974 terrorists in addition to the destruction of 152 car bombs, adding that the Iraqi forces managed to seize a large amount of weapons.
He added, “The anti-extremism troops resume their work through inspecting the buildings and the roads in the liberated areas in both Eastern and southern sides of Mousl’s left bank.”
