The Dubai Police nabbed a gang of 5 Asians who used forged documents to get smart phones and other services from Etisalat. The gang was arrested in Al Baraha area.
Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation Affairs, revealed the Asians fleeced the telecommunications company by furnishing fake documents to obtain smart phones and services using different names.
Al Mansouri pointed out that the police department received a tip-off that a gang had misled Etisalat and used bogus documents. He added that the police immediately launched an investigation, and arrested those involved in the fraud, while praising the team for their promptness to zero in on the suspects.
Colonel Bousaiba said that after tracking the whereabouts of the fourth suspect, the probe team raided his residence and found forged salary certificates as well as a laptop used in carrying out the fraud.
The second defendant admitted that he was assisting the first defendant to forge papers and work certificates with seals of various companies.
