Cairo- Akram Ali

Facebook page supporting the ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak has published a controversial article compares between Mubarak and The Muslim Caliph, Uthman ibn Affan, aThe article compares between Mubarak's position today and the position of the great Muslim companion when a huge number of Kharijities gathered to kill him and overthrow him from his post, as they siege his house. The comparison made by 'I am sorry Mr. President' page caused a storm of criticism,   mentioned the corruption in Egypt in the era of Mubarak and the killing of protestors. Admins of the page said that what happened in the days of Caliph Uthman ibn Affan was very similar to what Egypt has witnessed nowadays, as a large number of Egyptian protestors surrounded Mubarak in his palace to remove him from his office. The Page put a photo of Mubarak wearing the clothes of Hajj above the article which stated: "In the name of God. Peace and blessing be upon his honored messenger, Muhammed ibn Abdillah and his companions to the Day of Judgment…To each  who attacks president Mubarak and accuses him of  corruption, and tries every possible chance to insult him; To all the Arab peoples who are driven to the plan of the New Middle East; Do you remember our Master Uthman ibn Affan, one the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and one the Ten people, promised Paradise, and one of the Muslims Caliphs after the Messenger Mohammed, who was surrounded by a large numbers of Kharijities to kill him and topple him from his post, and did with him what the Egyptian president Mubarak. The Article considered that the position of the Caliph is very similar to Mubarak's position when the rebels surrounded his palace, claiming that he refused to give orders to the Republican Guard, who are known for their allegiance to him, to shoot at the demonstrators even if they get him from his bed. The article also compared what happened during the reign of the Caliph Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) and what happened nowadays in the spread of rumors and inciting and directing people towards foreign agendas, considering that Mubarak like the Caliph Uthman, "was not corrupted, to be attacked by the persecutors who have personal interests".  The article mentioned how the Kharijities gathered against one of the Ten Promised Paradise and that he spoiled the Succession of the Prophet, as they used method now used in the modern era, and the most important methods is rumors, incitement, debate, and arguing the Caliph in front of people; and also the use of falsifying books, and convincing people of Madinah that they came by a call from Companions, and escalate the event till they reached his killing; This scene reminds us of the  persecutions that we see today, by calling up people and directing them to execute others' goals and applying foreign agendas; so, does Uthman was also corrupted to be attacked by the Kharijities, as Mubarak attacked by those who have personal interests?" Facebook users in Egypt this article with a wave of criticism and ridicule, rejecting the case of analogy between the great Companion Uthman ibn Affan and the ousted president Hosni Mubarak, who "tyrannize and oppress" as they said, Saying that the Caliph Uthman was not an tyrant ruler corruption spread under his reign and penetrate all the coroner of his state; and he did not harm his people or contribute to their killing, whether by carcinogenic pesticides or by the shots of the snipers in Tahrir Square.
