A 68-year-old foreman, who was charged with sexual and physical abuse, has stood trial at a Dubai court recently.
The Court of First Instance was told that the Egyptian man sexually harassed a worker on May 2 after luring him to the basement on the pretext that he needed the latter to help him moving some material. However, he denied the worker's accusations in court.
The complaint was filed at Al Rashidiya police station.
The complainant, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi worker, said the incident happened when he was at work at an under-construction project in Al Garhoud.
An Egyptian civil engineer, 50, said he learned about some problem at the site and that a group of workers were having a confrontation with the foreman.
"I then heard from a worker that he was sexually harassed by his boss. I did not believe his story at first but when he sent me the clip on WhatsApp, I confronted the defendant with it. The latter claimed the worker had cast a spell on him and that he was not in his right mind when it happened. He alleged the worker wanted to blackmail him
