An Afghan visitor faces ten years in jail and a hefty fine after a court convicted him of smuggling 62 capsules of heroin in his intestines in to Dubai. The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced the 23-year-old visitor, Z.H., to ten years and fined him Dh50,000 after he pleaded guilty to smuggling and possessing heroin. Prosecutors accused Z.H. of smuggling 506 grams of heroin in the form of 62 capsules in his intestines at Dubai International Airport. Presiding Judge Jasem Mohammad Al Beloushi said the accused will be deported following the completion of his punishment.
