Nigeria\'s Adamawa Gov. Murtala Nyako has denied Boko Haram is operating in his state. Nyako\'s denial comes even as soldiers of the 23rd Armored Brigade based in the Adamawa state capital Yola said they killed suspected members of the dreaded Islamic militant secretive sect. Last week unknown gunmen attacked two police stations and banks in Gombi, 80 miles north of Yola, killing 18 people, with the rising wave of violence being blamed on the Islamist Boko Haram sect. Referring to the attacks, Nyako said, \"It was just armed robbery attacks, not Boko Haram but God willing the perpetrators of this deadly act will be arrested and made to face the music. Already security operatives are working assiduously to trail them, so we will not be deterred by these heinous acts,\" The Daily Trust reported Friday. But soldiers of \"Operation Tsaro,\" the military outfit maintaining peace in Adamawa, said on Thursday they gunned down two motorcyclists suspected to be Boko Haram sect members.
