\"How did he get here and why is he allowed to stay?\" are the two questions Iranian expatriates and Canadians are asking Immigration Minister Jason Kenney about an Iranian banker who fled to Toronto last month as officials in Iran sought him for questioning in a massive embezzlement scam.Mahmoud Reza Khavari, an Iranian, who also holds a Canadian passport and owns a $3 million home in the affluent Bridle Path neighborhood, was the head of Bank Melli Iran until last month\'s fraud scandal. The citizens petitioning the government want to know when and how a man connected to a huge bank scandal acquired citizenship and they want his citizenship right to be legally revoked. Officials in Iran are equally outraged that Canada has accepted to host a main suspect in a $2.6bln bank embezzlement. Canadian government officials have been tight-lipped on the Khavari case. Numerous inquiries to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade over a two-week period yielded no response, according to the star.com. On Monday, a ministry spokeswoman told the Toronto Star that all further questions must be directed to the RCMP. A spokesman for the RCMP said police would neither confirm nor deny whether there is an ongoing investigation.
