The Abu Dhabi Police air ambulance crews have rescued several residents in the UAE capital during the Eid Al Fitr holidays.

During Eid, the air ambulance crews from Abu Dhabi Police provided immediate medical care to a man who was injured in a traffic accident in Al Ain, as well as a woman who was injured in a separate accident in Abu Dhabi city.

The man was immediately airlifted to Tawam Hospital, while the woman was air lifted to Al Mafraq Hospital for medical treatment.

A young boy who was suffering from a critical medical condition in Abu Dhabi City was also transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) by Abu Dhabi Police's air ambulance.

The air wing crew provided first aid to the three cases and managed to maintain their stability, until they reached the hospitals.

Abu Dhabi Police said this is simply a response to humanitarian needs, particularly those who require immediate medical attention.

The Abu Dhabi air wing staff performs numerous humanitarian tasks, including, providing air ambulance, search and rescue services, aerial photography and road monitoring.

21,665 calls received by Abu Dhabi Police in aid

The Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations Department - command and control centre (999) received a whopping 21,665 phone calls during Eid Al Fitr.

A total of 13,291 calls were made from within Abu Dhabi City, while 6,642 calls from Al Ain, and 1,132 calls from Al Dhafra.

Colonel Nasser Sulaiman Al Maskari, Director of Operations Department of Abu Dhabi Police, said that the Police handled all communications, which were received by the Central Operations Center, taking into consideration the time limit of response of arrival to each site.

Colonel Al Maskari stressed that the Department of Operations provides services to the public in accordance with the highest standards and requirements, which is the policy of the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police.
