A moderate cyclone storm over the north Bay of Bengal weakened and continued to move northeastwards, said a weather forecast report Wednesday. The wind speed reduced to 64 to 88 kilometers per hour after crossing between Maungtaw, Rakhine coast of Myanmar and south Bazaar of Bangladesh Wednesday night, according to a weather forecast report released here Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. local time. The cyclone had brought heavy rainfall on Maungtaw and Sittway in the Rakhine state. A tornado had also hit Sittway, uplifting some roofs and trees in some three areas of the township on Wednesday with all shops there closed, the local Biweekly Eleven News also said. The cyclone storm at red level swept at a wind speed of 96 to 112 kilometers per hour on Wednesday before it turned weak, the weather report said.
