The Sharjah Police are investigating the cause of the fire which charred to death two Pakistani brothers Mohammad Salman (9) and Mohammad Adnan (7) in their home in Al Ghafiya area. Meanwhile, the father of the victims, Mohammad Arfan, 33, who works at Emirates Driving Institute, told Khaleej Times that the blaze started outside the narrow backyard and spread to the next room. He said that the fire erupted around 2:30pm on Sunday while his two kids were in their room with their mother who was teaching them. As she left the room to wash her hands, suddenly she heard an explosion and the house was in flames.
Arfan said that his wife and children had escaped with other relatives when they saw the flames coming out from the other room. However, the boys after having come out again ran inside the house as they thought that their mother was trapped inside. They also wanted to get their bicycles which were kept in the backyard, he added.
