Five people were killed in an overnight attack by suspected Boko Haram militants in east Niger, according to local media reports.
The attackers, believed to belong to the extremist group Boko Haram, rode into the village of Toumour on camels on Friday night. They burnt down houses, and killed and injured residents in the village.
The attack is the first in three months carried out in the east by the group, according to Niger Public Radio.
