More than four out of every 10 South Koreans are afraid of walking outside late at night, a police poll showed Sunday, indicating a relatively high level of public anxiety over security at night. According to the poll by the National Police Agency, 43.7 percent of the total 28,103 respondents said they feel threatened when walking along streets late at night while only 28 percent responded they don\'t. The poll also found that 37.1 percent are afraid of being robbed, while just 30.7 percent are not afraid of such crimes. Asked about fairness in the way the police deals with investigations, 37.5 percent said the police are fair while 13.7 percent responded otherwise. \"On the basis of the poll results, police will continue reformation efforts in order to help reorient police activities toward people\'s needs,\" a police official said.
