Two soldiers were killed and four others injured on Friday during an operation against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Sirnak, Dogan News Agency reported.
The operation was conducted against the militants at the Gabar mountain of Sirnak.
The wounded soldiers were taken to a hospital nearby while the operation to apprehend the militants is still underway.
The Turkish government has intensified its counter terror operations following the recent attacks in Izmir carried out by the PKK which is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the EU and Turkey.
