Perez says the fans come first Madrid - Arabstoday Real Madrid President Florentino Perez says the club must remain united for its fans, following the fallout from their Champions League semi-final exit to Borussia Dortmund, Goal.com reports. Last week's defeat meant the club now has just one realistic hope of lifting a trophy this season, with Los Blancos set to face city rival Atletico Madrid on May 17 in the Copa del Rey final. The future of Real boss Jose Mourinho is also in doubt, with reports that several key first team players do not like him. However, according to Goal.com, Perez is determined to ensure the club's season does not end in turmoil. "We have to be united for our people and fans, and our players will do it," he said at the fifth edition of the Real Madrid Chair Research Grants. "Real Madrid is driven by the strength, energy and passion of the fans. We always owe it them. "Soon we will have a new challenge to focus on - the Copa del Rey final," he added. Real Madrid are 11 points behind Real Madrid in La Liga, with four games to play.
