Egypt has won 12 medals in 2 tournaments Cairo - Hossam Al Said Egypt's national karate team picked up six medals on the first day of the Karate Premier League in Russia on Monday, adding to the six medals they won in the Netherlands last month. In the women's game, Yassmin Hamdy won the golden medal, while Sara Assem won the silver medal. Both Randa Atif and Aya Nasser won the Bronze medal. The success of the karate squad in the individual competitions is a welcome change from the poor performance in several team sports on the international stage.
