Djamel Abdoun injures thigh
Algerian international Djamel Abdoun has been ruled out for up to three weeks with a thigh injury.
The Olympiacos midfielder limped off the field during the Greek side's league
match with Panionios on Saturday, and medical reports have shown that Abdoun has ruptured his bicep femoris tendon.
The injury is a blow for the Algerian national team, with Abdoun now a major doubt to feature at the 2013 African Cup of Nations, in South Africa.
Abdoun's eye-catching performances in Greece saw him gain much deserved recognition on the international stage, with Algeria boss Vahid Halilhodži? naming in the provision 40-man squad list. However, it now seems like he will miss the chance to play for his country at the tournament next month.
