Fathi has struggled to break into the Hull team Hull - Arabstoday Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Fathi made his first start since joining Hull City in January but the English club slumped to a 1-0 defeat by Wolves in Championship division on Tuesday. Fathi, who joined Hull from Egyptian giants al-Ahly on a short-term loan deal, had made four substitute appearances before being included in the starting line-up against Wolves. The midfielder, who can also play at right-back, had a long-range drive that flew just wide after 25 minutes and received a yellow card for a challenge on Stephen Hunt in the 75th minute. Fathi's fellow Egyptian Ahmed Elmohamady was lively throughout the match, whilst Mohamed Nagy Gedo missed the game due to a foot injury. Hull remain second in the Championship table with 77 points. League leaders Cardiff City gained promotion to the Premier League with a 0-0 draw against Charlton on Tuesday evening.
