South Korean and United States troops will take part in the joint Key Resolve military drill starting Monday, led by the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff. Roughly ten-thousand South Korean troops and three-thousand-500 US troops will take part in the military exercise, according to the Korea’s (KBS WORLD) website. F-22 stealth fighter jets, B-52 bombers and a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier will be deployed for the drill. North Korean military forces are also expected to hold a large-scale drill around the Wonsan region in Gangwon Province, with all army, marine and air force troops to participate, including special ops units. Experts have said North Korea could possibly fire short-range KN-02 missiles off the east and west coast, as North Korea has imposed no-fly, no-sail zones off both coasts. South Korean military forces are on high alert as the North Korean military exercise could soon lead to a provocation.
