Israeli bulldozers dawn Thursday razed Palestinian agricultural structures in Ni'lin town, northwest of Ramallah, in the central West Bank, said a local activist.
According to Muhammad Amira, member of the local anti-settlement and wall committee, large Israeli troops, escorting a bulldozer, stormed the eastern part of the town, known as al-Muhalhel.
They razed several agricultural structures and livestock barns belong to the town, citing their proximity to the nearby settlement of Na'aleh as a pretext.
Ni'lin and the nearby village of Bil'in has turned into a scene of weekly Friday clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians and international solidarity activists protesting wall and settlement construction.
Forces routinely forcefully quell demonstrations, opening live and rubber-coated steel bullets at demonstrators, causing many injuries.
The residential area of the village is classified as Area B, under joint Palestinian and Israeli control. It only accounts for 5% of the town’s land.
The other 95% of the town’s land is designated as Area C, falling under full Israeli control, according to a research prepared by the Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem.
