The Islamic-Christian Commission in support of Jerusalem and holy sites warned on Sunday against the continued Israeli excavations beneath the Old City in occupied Jerusalem that recently led to cracks and the collapse of walls in the town of Silwan south of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
Hanna Issa, Secretary General of the Commission, said in a statement that the Old City of Jerusalem has many archaeological and historical sites that are threatened with collapse due to the continued Israeli excavations beneath them.
He also urged the international community to force Israel to put an end to these excavations.
The statement condemned the daily violations committed by the occupation authorities against the Palestinians that include arrests, demolition of Palestinian homes and confiscations of their lands.
