Negotiators from the EU and Iran will meet in Geneva on Thursday and Friday to continue discussions on Irans nuclear programme, an EU spokesman confirmed here Wednesday. "I can confirm that Helga Schmid who is the political director of the European External Action Service (EUs foreign service) will be in Geneva on Thursday and Friday to meet Iranian Deputy foreign minister Abbas Araqchi," EU foreign affairs spokesman Michael Mann told journalists. He noted that this is a follow up to the joint action plan agreed on 24 November in Geneva between the EU and the group of P5+ and Iran. "There has been technical discussions just before the New Year and there are still some outstanding issues to be discussed so they will be addressed by Helga Schmid and Mr. Arachi. I cant give you any more details at the moment," added Mann who is the spokesman for EU High Representative Catherine Ashton.
