Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour said on Sunday that the government is making amendments to several laws and legislation to meet the needs of the economic development and create a suitable investment climate.
Many laws to be put forward during the coming phase, including the value-added tax law, will be reviewed by businessmen and traders first, he added.
He made the remarks during his participation in a meeting of board of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, headed by Ahmed El Wakeel.
A public discussion will be held with the business community before endorsing the laws and legislation, according to the industry minister.
The government targets implementing many development projects in the upper Egypt governorates within the comprehensive development plan prepared by the government, he asserted.
