The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Joint Program Production Institution is considered a vivid model of successful action, Assistant Undersecretary at Ministry of Information for Radio Sector Sheikh Fahad Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah asserted.
Sheikh Fahad made this remark here on Wednesday in his speech on behalf of Acting Undersecretary at the ministry Faisal Al-Mutalqem in the 14th meeting of Radio chiefs of the GCC Joint Program Production Institution.
The institution has embodied over four decades the Gulf joint spirit and fate through achieving a number of goals aimed at reviving the Gulf, Arab and Islamic heritage and upgrading the levels of Radio and TV programs for presenting Gulf distinguished media, he said.
Since 1977, the institution has been keen on producing many educational, cultural, environmental and health programs as well as serials that focused on significant aspects in the march of the societal development of the GCC peoples, he said.
"Our media institutions need to double their efforts so as to cope with the successive events and accelerated developments and face challenges the region is facing," Sheikh Fahad stressed. He underlined the significance of doubling cooperation and coordination among the GCC member states to cement the principles of loyalty and citizenship in order to meet the institution's goals.
He urged all media institutions to develop programs and discourses for the youth aimed at coping with media developments across the globe, emphasizing that by this move, the Gulf media would be attracted by large numbers of audience.
