Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have USD 20 billion worth of investments in Sudan, Investment Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail said Monday.
Ismail was speaking at a news conference about Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir's forthcoming trip to the GCC countries.
He said Bashir's visits to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain aimed at strengthening economic relations with these countries. He did not specify the dates of the tour.
Ismail said Bahrain would propose a special agreement between the GCC and Sudan, similar to the accords the Arab Gulf bloc signed with Jordan, Yemen and Morocco.
