Investment Minister Ashraf Salman underlined the importance of starting the implementation of electricity and renewable energy projects as soon as possible to meet the demand in energy in line with the government's investment plans.
Energy is one of the basic requirements for attaining economic boom for any country, he said during a periodic meeting of the follow-up committee of projects of Egypt Economic Development Conference.
The meeting took up the agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the conference in the field of electricity and renewable energy.
The meeting also tackled the measures taken to activate these agreements along with the proposed work plan within the upcoming period to start implementing these projects.
The electricity minister said that the current efforts focus on allocating the necessary plots of land to carry out these projects and endorse feasibility studies submitted by the investors.
