Egyptian Member of Parliament Sahar Tallat Mustafa stressing the need for using the reports published in a number of foreign newspapers demanding to lift travel ban imposed against Egypt to promote for Egypt’s tourism during the coming period.
She stressed, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, the need for using such reports to support the vital sector of Egypt’s economy, saying that they took their decision to impose a travel ban against the country due to the terrorist actions witnessed in the country and the political developments since 2011.
She added that the country witnesses currently a state of security and stability praising the efforts exerted by the country’s security forces to contain the terrorist threat in all over the country during the current critical period. She called Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to use the current pressure exerted by the travel agencies to return their flights to the country.
Regarding the role of Egyptian authorities, she said that the Egyptian government should perform a major role to revive the vital sector in the light of the current economic situation witnessed in the country. She stressed that the Foreign Ministry should intensify its contact with the British government to lift the travel ban it imposed against the country.
She pointed out to the importance of achieving economic and social balance along with preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Arab region and keep it from depletion or destruction. She said tourism in the nature heritage locations is required by vast categories of tourists.
Regarding the developments of Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam, the parliamentarian praised the efforts exerted by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, saying that the Egyptian government gives the priority to cooperation with Africa. She stressed that the visits conducted by the Egyptian president to the African states came strengthen Egypt’s relations with them.
She blamed the media channels and newspapers for aggravating the tension between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, describing the relations between the two countries as historic. She raised the importance of strategic relations between Cairo and Riyadh. She added that the Egyptian position from the Syrian crisis is different from the Saudi position, stressing that each country works to achieve its own interests.
