Egyptian television presenter Mona el- Husseiny expressed her support for the anti-government movement, telling Arab Today that she plans to attend the June 30 demonstrations. She adopts the same political stance as the majority of Egyptians, who feel the current government is failing. El-Husseiny criticised the absence of a clear plan aiming to achieve serious development in the country. She asserted that the Egyptian people represent 75 percent of the country, while the Muslim Brotherhood represents only 25 percent. The presenter recognised that Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi had been democratically elected, but claimed that Morsi abandoned his voter’s interests to keep his political party happy. She expressed her frustration at being isolated from what is happening in her country, adding that she was hoping Egypt would start a new era. El-Huessieny feels that the Egyptian people should decide the destiny of their country and actively participate in achieving reform. She accused the Muslim Brotherhood of dealing with the Egyptian people as servants, adding that they work to marginalise the role of the Egyptian woman
