The Zul Hijjah crescent was sighted today according to a tweet posted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The sighting was awaited since yesterday when the Supreme Court said that the moon was not sighted on Monday night.
The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia has announced on Tuesday that the crescent of the month of Zul Hijja was sighted, and Wednesday (today) will be Zul Hijjah 1.
"Accordingly, Haj (Standing on Mount Arafat) will be on Thursday, August 31 and Eid al Adha will be on Friday, September 1", the court added.
