The Zayed House for Islamic Culture, ZHIC, organised a water aid initiative, titled "Suqya Khair", on Thursday in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and the Al Ain Livestock Farms.
ZHIC employees, new converts, and ERC volunteers distributed 250 meals, fruits and cold beverages to construction workers on the site of the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Mosque in Al Ain city.
Khalifa Abdullah Al Saedi, Head of Media and Public Relations Department at ZHIC, said that this is part of the series of social responsibility initiatives implemented by the organisation. The Zayed House for Islamic Culture cooperates with various community associations and the private sector, within the framework of its annual aid plan, and as part of its efforts in supporting the #Year of Giving, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He added that the participation of new converts in the initiative for the second consecutive year comes within the framework of ZHIC, which aims to involve converts in volunteer work and strengthen the concept of social responsibility and cooperation by integrating various segments of the community in society and introducing them to the humanitarian values of the UAE.
