Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hesham Mohammed Al Jowdar has affirmed the ongoing efforts in accordance with the government policy and programmes to enhance work performance in the ministry by harnessing information technology (IT).
Information technology has become much more advanced and facilitates work procedures and numerous initiatives and projects were adopted to boost the kingdom's regional and international position and its competitive edge in accordance with best international standards that ensure highest productivity and the provision of top quality services, Al Jowdar said.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs (MYS) announced its adoption of Microsoft's Operation Management System (OMS) aimed to boost its services and to acquire the fully integrated protective system.
The OMS system will help in the implementation of the Government Action Plan for development of administrative work in the ministry, facilitation of the relevant procedures for ministry employees and customers thanks to the ministry's adoption of Microsoft's OMS software package.
The system will boost the productivity level through investment in cloud computing tools, simplification of administrative tasks, data centres from anywhere and anytime.
"Our partnership with Microsoft opens the way to stimulate the public and the private sectors to proceed with development of their systems with the objective of accelerating the pace of community and the kingdom's development and prosperity," the minister said.
